Welcome

Julie PikeWelcome. This site is intended to provide information and tools to help you with anxiety, stress, fear, and pain that results from daily struggles with these. I’ve specialized in evidence-based treatments for anxiety disorders and related conditions since 1998. Unfortunately, the most common question I hear is, “Why haven’t I ever been told there’s effective treatment for this?” I wish I could give an answer. I can’t. The most important point is this: You don’t have to suffer the rest of your life. You don’t have to “deal with” anxiety and stress as an untreatable, chronic, and lifelong condition to be bandaged and nursed. You can get better. I can’t promise or predict what “better” looks like for you–but there is always room for improvement. Some people I see go through brief treatment (8-10 sessions), and never have to address their problems again. Others come in a few times a year, or every few years, as life changes. Some clients do have symptoms throughout their lives–however, they report that the frequency, the intensity, and the duration of the upsets are reduced.

I have a remarkable job: I get to help people walk through pain and come out the other side. I get to help them live their lives to the fullest and according to their own values, rather than in the service of fear or the avoidance of discomfort. I’m privileged to provide effective solutions that allow people to move on in their lives and become the human beings they aspire to be. In turn, they spread the message and share the tools they’ve learned, helping other people.

I hope that you find here the help you’re seeking. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions, or if I can help point you in the right direction. That’s how it works; that’s how the world heals, by one person helping another.
